How it works
Allow Photos access
FreeMemory reads your Photos library on the device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create.
Scan
The scan groups duplicates, large videos, screenshots and compressible photos, with live counts as it runs.
Review and move to the Bin
Open a category, check the thumbnails, and send what you do not need to the Bin. You can still restore anything.
Empty the Bin
iOS asks you to confirm once, and the photos move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where they stay for 30 days.
Why there is no paywall
Most iPhone cleaner apps scan for free, then ask $5–8 a week to delete what they found. FreeMemory has no premium tier to sell you, so there is no reason to inflate the numbers or hide the delete button. Read more in the weekly-subscription trap.
Common questions
Is FreeMemory really free on iPhone?
Yes. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription and no trial that turns into a weekly charge. Every feature is available to everyone.
Does it upload my photos?
No. Scanning, duplicate detection and compression all run on your iPhone. Your photos are never sent to a server, and there is no account or analytics.
iOS already has a Duplicates album. Why use an app?
The Photos Duplicates album is good and free — use it. It only appears after iOS finishes indexing (usually overnight while charging), and it does not find large videos, sort by size, batch screenshots or compress photos. FreeMemory covers those in one scan.
Can I get deleted photos back?
Yes, for 30 days. FreeMemory moves items to its own Bin first, and when you empty the Bin iOS puts them in Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted. Delete them there too to free the space immediately.
Why does the iPhone version do less than Android?
iOS does not let apps browse the whole filesystem. FreeMemory for iPhone works on your Photos library, plus any folder you choose in the Files app. It cannot clear other apps’ caches or “System Data” — no App Store app can.
